The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE) have put together a set of talking point ideas designed to celebrate 20 years of the Branford Boase Award.
The ideas in the sequence of sessions will support teachers in reading aloud and talking about the selected texts with their children, allowing children to respond to and understand the text in greater depth. We start with Henrietta Branford’s ‘Fire Bed and Bone’ which won the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize in 1998, and then go on to a selection of books that have won the Branford Boase Award.
