Six talented young writers, winners of the 2019 Henrietta Branford Writing Competition.
The winners came with their families to the awards ceremony at Walker Books in London. Prue Goodwin, who is a lecturer in literacy and children’s books and judged the entries, presented the them with a bag of books written by the shortlisted BBA authors. The entrants had to complete a story started by last year’s BBA winner, author of Kick, Mitch Johnson.
